Is Your Banker Committed to the Farming Lifestyle?

BY REBECCA KING

At Old National Bank, we know that farming is not just a job, it’s a lifestyle. As Ag Lenders, we’re still close to the field. All of us have grown up on farms. In many cases, we still help work a farm, or have family members who are farmers. We get it. We’re deeply committed to the rural communities we serve.

We’re Ready for the Next Generation

As a farmer, you need a lot from your local bank. You want someone who’s rooted in agriculture, who can help you navigate state and federal funding programs to find the best option for you. You also need someone who’s backed by substantial assets. As your operation grows, you’ll need to borrow more. That means you should not be constrained by lending limits.

Plus, your bank should have high-quality technology, competitive rates, and a full suite of products and services. At Old National, we offer all that.

Old National: Where Relationships and Results Matter

When you work with us, we take a consultative approach. That means that we emphasize a forward-looking view.

For example, if you had an opportunity to buy an 80-acre plot, we’d sit down and review your financing options, your monthly payments, your profitability and help you decide if a purchase makes sense. And if it doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t. There’s no pressure.

Our goal is to be your partner, and help you pursue sustained long-term profitability. Sometimes that means pouncing on an opportunity—and sometimes it means passing. We want to get it right.

We’re a Top 50 Ag Bank

If you do decide you need financing, we have the know-how to help. We have substantial experience as a Farm Service Agency (FSA) Lender and a Farmer MAC lender.

The FSA program has low down payment options. This can be an effective solution for younger clients with relatively limited cash. It’s an opportunity to build equity in your name within the farming industry, without using a relative as a co-signer. That can be a big plus—and extend the family business to the next generation. We can also help with the innovative FSA interest-assistance program.

Beyond that, we offer operating agricultural loans, equipment financing, and conventional real estate purchase loans. We also have a well-developed network of third-party partners that offer crop insurance, financial consulting, and accounting services. We’re your full-service lender.

It Starts with a Conversation

As Ag Bankers, we love our communities, we’re committed to the farming lifestyle, and we’re ready to build a professional relationship with you and your business.
